SHANGHAI, China, August 7, 2018 — Continuing it long partnership with Shanghai Metro, Otis Electric, Otis’ sub-brand in China will provide more than 210 escalators for the new Line 18. This marks the ninth Shanghai Metro project for Otis Electric, which has previously provided equipment for Lines 2, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 16 and 17.
Upon completion, the 36-kilometer Line 18 will supplement the extensive Shanghai Metro which serves the Greater Shanghai area.
Otis Electric has provided equipment and services for metro networks in 17 cities across China, covering more than half of the cities in the country that have opened rail transit, according to the China Urban Rail Transit Market Report issued in November 2017.
